FINALLY AN ALTERNATIVE TO CHROMIC BLUE
May 2001 Powder Show marked the date that SUNJUT introduced its new Type D fabric. For the last 8 years or so, Linq Industries of USA has been enjoying its monopoly on this particular type of fabric. Rightfully so, as Linq went through tough times proving its case. It is their effort which made the industry accept the fabric that "dissipates static electricity" as Type D. Up until then the conductive fabric, known as Type C was the only solution to getting rid of static electricity built up created during the filling and discharging of F.I.B.C.s. Type C is now very common among FIBC users both in Europe and in the USA. On the other hand the relatively new Type D is not so well known in Europe. Linq has been very active in marketing this product in the USA, but passive in Europe except for the U.K. market.
In the last 8 years most European FIBC manufacturers denied the effect of Type D. Even spread the rumor that it did not work effectively. Well the reality was not so different regarding the only type D product in the market. Understanding the current problems, the technical experts in Sunjut went into deep research. This process took years and lots of funding. The trials were extra difficult, as each essay had to be produced into a bag and sent to the authorities for testing. This pain taking work eventually, as it always does, paid itself. Sun-Stat was created only months prior to the Chicago Powder exhibition. Sunjut waited to make the introduction to the market for the big event.
Sun-Stat has been tested by Dr. Glor, from "Swiss Institute of Safety and Security", which is the expert everyone in Europe follows. Its report shows that the static electricity built up on Sun-Stat bigbag dissipates at a faster rate then its only other alternative in the market. This actually makes Sun-Stat a better bag, or other words a safer bag.
Of course each continent has its own expert and Sunjut had to get Dr. Abadat's approval for the USA market. Dr. Abadat from Chilworth Technology, Inc. has been known to be the expert on this item particularly as he is the co-inventor of Chromic Blue fabric.
Well it did not take too long for Dr. Abadat to approve the bag made out of Sun-Stat fabric. He not only approved Sun-Stat, but congratulated Sunjut for its achievement towards a better fabric as well.
Sunjut has been weaving its own fabric for the FIBCs its been making since 1989. Exactly 4 years ago Sunjut had moved to its new building in Istanbul (Asian side) which helped them increase their capacity. The opening celebration, which included a lecture on static electricity and its dangers by Dr. Glor, a detailed factory tour, and belly dancer dinner cruise in the beautiful Bosphorus is still in the minds of most visitors. This year in January Sunjut opened its second factory, this time on the European side. This new, modern, and equally large building operates with full integration. This allows end-users protection against possible force-major situations that may occur in one plant. Such a guarantee is often asked for but almost never provided in the industry. Sunjut's reputation on innovation in FIBC industry is well known. Sunjut proved that it deserves this high respect and good reputation by providing the industry with such a product. Industry will always look for its leaders to be in research to make this world a better and a safer place.
